The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has officially confirmed that holders of all types of visas are now eligible to perform Umrah while in Saudi Arabia. This decision represents a significant step in broadening access for millions of Muslims around the world and is part of the Kingdom’s continuing efforts to enhance services for pilgrims.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the measure is designed to simplify procedures, increase flexibility for visitors, and align with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to enrich religious tourism and improve the overall experience for pilgrims. The announcement clarified that the decision applies to a wide range of visa categories, including personal and family visit visas, electronic tourist visas, transit visas, work visas, and others.
The ministry emphasized that ensuring smooth arrivals and safe rituals for all pilgrims remains a top priority. To support this, it has launched the Nusuk Umrah platform, a modern digital system that enables Muslims to book complete Umrah packages, secure permits electronically, and select timings that best suit their schedules. The platform offers a user-friendly experience, making it easier for pilgrims to plan their journeys with convenience and peace of mind.
These advancements are part of a broader strategy led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince to create an environment where pilgrims can perform their religious duties in safety and tranquility. By focusing on innovation and high-quality services, the Kingdom aims to enrich the spiritual journey, ensuring that performing Umrah is both fulfilling and free of unnecessary obstacles.
