Saudi Arabia Introduces 9 New Rules for Female Pilgrims Visiting Holy Mosques

The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has issued nine key guidelines aimed at helping female pilgrims maintain a respectful and smooth visit to these sacred sites. These guidelines were shared through an infographic on the Authority’s official X (formerly Twitter) account.

Key Guidelines for Female Pilgrims:

  1. Modest Clothing: Pilgrims should wear appropriate Islamic attire when visiting the prayer areas.
  2. Cooperation with Staff: It’s important to follow instructions from staff members for a smooth experience.
  3. Respectful Behavior: Pilgrims should avoid sitting or sleeping on the floors in prayer areas.
  4. Proper Alignment in Prayer Rows: Ensure that prayer rows are aligned correctly to maintain order during prayers.
  5. Cleanliness: Maintaining cleanliness is essential. Pilgrims should avoid bringing food or drink into the prayer spaces.
  6. Minimize Noise: Noise levels should be kept to a minimum to preserve the sanctity of the environment.
  7. Shoes on Carpets: Pilgrims are advised not to step on carpets while wearing shoes.
  8. Protect Personal Belongings: Do not leave personal belongings unattended for security reasons.

These measures are intended to preserve the sanctity of the holy sites, creating a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere for all worshippers.
