[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Lahore, 8 August 2023: Zaka Ashraf, the head of the Management Committee, held a meeting with former Pakistan fast bowler Sarfraz Nawaz to address the issue of his unpaid ex gratia payments. The meeting took place at the National Cricket Academy and was attended by former captains Misbah-ul-Haq and Mohammad Hafeez.
Ashraf handed over a cheque to settle the payments and assured Nawaz of continued support. The ex gratia payments had been suspended due to disciplinary proceedings, but Nawaz’s compliance with the Code of Conduct will lead to the resumption of payments under the Players’ Welfare Policy.

Ashraf expressed concern over Nawaz’s situation and criticized the use of PCB funds for personal agendas. He emphasized the board’s commitment to supporting both current and former cricketers. Nawaz appreciated the reinstatement of his pension and offered to provide honorary services to enhance fast bowlers’ skills.
Nawaz, who played a significant role in Pakistan’s cricket history, took 177 Test wickets and 63 batters in ODIs. He expressed gratitude for the step taken by Ashraf and the PCB.
