Sana Yousaf’s Killer Confesses, Reveals Shocking Reason Behind Murder

The main suspect in the murder of 17-year-old TikTok star Sana Yousaf has confessed to the killing, according to investigators. Umar Hayat, a Faisalabad resident, gave his statement before a magistrate in Islamabad under Section 164, admitting that he shot Sana dead at her home on June 3 after she declined to meet him.

Umar claimed he had brought a birthday gift for Sana, which she rejected, and after being turned away twice, he acted out of anger and emotional distress. He confessed that his feelings of rejection led him to return the next day and carry out the murder.

Sana Yousaf, a well-known influencer with nearly 800,000 TikTok followers, was mourned widely online, prompting renewed concern over women’s safety in digital spaces. Authorities said the killing was linked to her decision to end ties with Umar. He remains in police custody, with his remand extended as the investigation continues.
