Pakistan’s vice-captain Salman Ali Agha has expressed confidence in the team’s strong pace attack against Australia, thanks to favorable conditions.

In a recent press conference in Melbourne, Agha praised the bowlers as “exceptional,” noting their ability to consistently bowl at speeds of around 140 km/h. He clarified that Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Naseem Shah were not dropped during the England Test series but rested to recover from their heavy workloads.

“They needed rest after continuous play, and now they’re feeling refreshed,” Salman explained.

As the team prepares for the series against Australia, he is optimistic about the trio’s performance and commended Babar Azam’s consistent contributions to team strategy. “Even off the field, Babar shares his insights,” he added.

Pakistan is expected to field a pace-heavy bowling lineup for the first ODI on Monday, as the Australian conditions favor such tactics, contrasting with the previous tests against England where Noman Ali and Sajid Khan led the bowling attack.

Salman noted that under coach Jason Gillespie’s guidance, the team has developed a game plan tailored to Australian conditions, benefiting from his knowledge of local pitches. “We’ve only been here two days, so we haven’t finalized the playing XI yet,” he mentioned.

He concluded with enthusiasm about the team’s motivation: “Every member is eager and determined to perform their best. We will keep it simple and focus on our game.”
