PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has announced a nationwide protest for August 5, urging the public to join what he called a movement to protect Pakistan’s sovereignty and democratic rights. Speaking in Lahore, he criticized what he described as unconstitutional actions against PTI lawmakers and rejected recent references sent to the ECP against 26 members.

Raja accused the government of undermining PTI’s electoral mandate by manipulating Form-47 and misrepresenting the May 9 protests. He demanded a judicial probe and release of CCTV footage. He also highlighted the harsh jail conditions faced by Imran Khan and rejected rumors of internal rifts, asserting party unity.

Condemning the use of sedition and cybercrime laws to silence dissent, he reaffirmed PTI’s commitment to truth and the Constitution. The press conference saw tension when a journalist’s question led to a walkout by PTI MPA Farrukh Javed Moon, though Raja urged calm. Concluding, he said efforts to sideline PTI would fail, adding, “The people are still with Imran Khan.”
