Russia launched another large-scale drone assault on Ukraine, killing two people and damaging parts of Kyiv while also striking a maternity ward in Odesa, officials reported on Tuesday.
The overnight barrage came after Russia’s largest drone attack on Ukraine a day earlier. Moscow claims the intensified strikes are retaliation for Ukraine’s recent cross-border attacks.

In Kyiv, at least four people were hospitalized as drones hit seven out of the city’s ten districts, causing fires in residential areas and open spaces. Witnesses described multiple explosions lighting up the night sky.
Ukrainian officials condemned the attacks. Presidential aide Andriy Yermak said, “You can’t break Ukrainians with terror,” while Deputy Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha urged immediate, harsher sanctions on Russia and stronger air defences for Ukraine.
The air raid alerts lasted for five hours, ending around dawn. Kyiv military chief Timur Tkachenko described the night as relentless, with drones specifically targeting civilian infrastructure and neighborhoods.
Officials stressed that Russia’s ongoing escalation showed its unwillingness to pursue peace, emphasizing the urgent need for global action.
