Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stirred controversy with an open threat directed at Pakistanis, declaring “My bullets are ready,” in what many see as an attempt to boost domestic popularity through anti-Pakistan rhetoric.

Following international embarrassment after setbacks in aerial combat, Modi launched a fresh verbal offensive against Pakistan. In a speech that sparked widespread criticism, he warned the people of Pakistan to either embrace peace or face violent consequences from India.

Modi stated, “Sukh chain ki zindagi jiyo, roti khao. Varna meri goli to hai hi,” which translates to: “Live a life of peace, eat your bread — or my bullets await.”

The statement, now widely shared across social media and news outlets, is being interpreted as a direct threat to Pakistani civilians, escalating tensions between the two nuclear-armed nations.

Critics condemned Modi — a figure already under scrutiny globally for his involvement in the 2002 Gujarat riots — calling his remarks dangerously provocative and destabilizing for regional peace.

“Modi has shifted from criticizing Pakistan’s government to threatening its people,” said social media users, expressing shock over such rhetoric from the head of a democratic nation.

During the same speech, Modi also ridiculed Pakistan’s economic and social challenges, contrasting them with India’s rise to becoming the world’s fourth-largest economy. He further accused Pakistan of promoting terrorism and remaining trapped in a destructive mindset.
