Rohit Sharma’s Wife Under Fire Over ‘Cartoon’ Remark on Chahal

Ritika Sajdeh, wife of former Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma, has come under intense scrutiny on social media after referring to Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal as a “cartoon” during a light-hearted segment on a YouTube talk show. The remark, though seemingly in jest, has triggered widespread backlash from fans.

The controversy began when the hosts of the show presented images of various Indian cricketers to Ritika and Rohit, prompting them to share their first thoughts. While Rohit responded to Shikhar Dhawan’s image with a playful “Jatt,” Ritika referred to Chahal as a “cartoon,” adding, “He’s usually like a cartoon.” Rohit did not respond during the moment.

Clips of the segment quickly went viral on social media, with many users deeming the comment disrespectful to a national player. Several posts questioned the tone of the remark and drew comparisons with how female public figures like Anushka Sharma are often treated for similar statements.

While some defended Ritika’s comment as a casual joke reflecting Chahal’s known humorous persona, others slammed it as unprofessional and urged public figures to be more mindful of their words. Calls for an apology have gained momentum online.

Chahal, known for his light-hearted nature and engaging presence on social media, has not issued any response. Ritika Sajdeh and Rohit Sharma have also remained silent, and there has been no official reaction from the BCCI.
