It seems Mohammad Rizwan, the wicketkeeper-batter for Pakistan, has acknowledged the criticism facing the national team after their early exit from the T20 World Cup 2024. Speaking in Peshawar, Rizwan emphasized that criticism is a natural part of sports and essential for improvement.
“We deserve this criticism since we didn’t perform as expected. Players who can’t handle criticism won’t succeed,” Rizwan stated, addressing reporters. He expressed disappointment over their performance in the tournament and highlighted multiple reasons for their losses, acknowledging that both batting and bowling needed improvement.

Regarding PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi’s suggestion for reforms in Pakistan cricket, Rizwan supported the idea, likening it to a necessary operation when someone is ill. He also commended Naqvi’s dedication and stressed that decisions about team composition rest with the chairman.
Pakistan’s campaign in the T20 World Cup included losses to the USA and India, despite victories against Canada and Ireland. This mixed performance led to their elimination from the tournament.
Previously, star pacer Shaheen Afridi had made a light-hearted comment in response to Naqvi’s remarks, adding a humorous note to the team’s situation.
