The Emergency Services Department Rescue 1122 has formally announced the launch of its EMT Internship Programme 2026, offering paid training opportunities to eligible candidates across multiple districts of Punjab. The initiative aims to strengthen emergency medical response capacity while providing young professionals with hands-on field experience.
According to a Rescue 1122 spokesperson, the internship programme is open to candidates who have secured at least a second division in relevant educational qualifications. Applicants must hold a diploma or degree in nursing, paramedical sciences, or other allied health disciplines to qualify for consideration.
The department has made it clear that only candidates holding a valid Punjab domicile will be eligible to apply for the EMT internship placements. Officials said this requirement ensures that trained individuals contribute directly to strengthening emergency services within the province.
Rescue 1122 has also defined an age limit for applicants under the 2026 programme. Candidates must be between 18 and 30 years of age at the time of application, ensuring opportunities for young graduates seeking early professional exposure.
Internship placements will be offered in various districts across Punjab, allowing participants to gain practical experience in emergency medical services, ambulance operations, and on-ground rescue response. Among the districts announced, Gujrat has been allocated 58 internship seats, while other districts will also host interns.
Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 40,000 during the internship period. Rescue 1122 officials said the programme is designed to enhance professional skills, improve emergency healthcare delivery, and prepare participants for future careers in emergency and medical services.
