RDA Issues Notice to Unlawful Housing Scheme in Rawalpindi

RDA Takes Action Against Unauthorized Park View City Phase-II Housing Scheme

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has issued a notice to the CEO of Park View City Phase-II, an unauthorized housing scheme, due to violations concerning marketing, advertising, plot bookings, and ongoing development activities conducted without RDA approval.

Unauthorized Activities and Legal Violations

The RDA’s action was prompted by the illegal marketing efforts, advertising campaigns, and plot bookings carried out by the developers of Park View City Phase-II. These activities violate Section 12(5) of the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and Rule 4 of the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules-2021, which regulate urban planning and the approval process for housing developments.

Impact on Urban Planning and Regulations

By engaging in these unapproved activities, the developers are undermining the integrity of urban planning regulations. Such unauthorized schemes pose risks to orderly development, which is vital for maintaining the standards of living and the legal structure of housing schemes.

RDA Director General’s Statement

Kinza Murtaza, Director General of RDA, emphasized the critical importance of adhering to legal requirements. She stated that no housing project should proceed with marketing, plot bookings, or development without obtaining the necessary approvals from the relevant authorities. Murtaza underscored that it is essential for all housing schemes to follow proper legal protocols to ensure organized and lawful urban development.

Strict Action to be Taken

Murtaza directed the RDA to enforce stringent measures against unauthorized marketing and advertisements. This includes filing FIRs (First Information Reports) against those responsible for such illegal activities. The RDA is committed to taking decisive action to prevent the unlawful sale of plots and halt construction in non-approved housing schemes.

This notice serves as a reminder to developers about the importance of obtaining proper approvals before initiating any housing project, emphasizing RDA’s commitment to enforcing legal standards and protecting the integrity of Rawalpindi’s urban landscape.
