The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has taken strict action against the owners of Wazir Town Housing Scheme. An FIR has been registered at Chaklala Police Station after the scheme continued construction despite repeated warnings.
According to RDA officials, the housing scheme owners had been served notices earlier, and their properties were sealed. They were found violating approved maps and building plans. However, the construction work continued without mandatory approvals and No Objection Certificates (NOCs).
The authority confirmed that these actions were in direct violation of the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and the RDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2021.
An RDA spokesperson said that this crackdown aims to protect the public from potential fraud and ensure citizen investments remain safe. The spokesperson urged people to remove encroachments voluntarily to avoid penalties, property losses, and legal action.
Director General Kinza Murtaza directed the Land Use and Building Control (LU&BC) Wing to maintain a zero-tolerance approach. She instructed officials to act firmly against unauthorized housing schemes, illegal commercial activities, and encroachments in the city.
The DG also emphasized recovering all fees and charges required for the regularization of unlawful residential and commercial structures. This move, she said, will ensure that all developments fall within legal and regulated frameworks.
The RDA has reiterated its firm stance that no illegal housing project will be allowed to operate within Rawalpindi. Officials stressed that continuous monitoring and legal action will be taken against any party found violating planning and zoning rules.
The latest action reflects RDA’s commitment to protecting public interest, maintaining urban discipline, and ensuring the city develops in a safe and lawful manner.
