Rawalpindi Traffic Police Roll Out Special Traffic Plan

The Rawalpindi City Traffic Police (CTP) has introduced special arrangements to manage the expected surge in traffic during the final ten days of Ramazan, aiming to ensure smooth travel across the city.

The measures were implemented on the directives of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi, Farhan Aslam, as markets and commercial areas witness heavy shopping activity ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.

According to a CTP spokesperson, additional traffic personnel have been deployed at major roads, commercial centers, and busy bazaars throughout the city. Office staff have also been assigned field duties in shifts until Eid to strengthen traffic management operations.

CTO Farhan Aslam stated that the last ten days of Ramazan typically bring an unusual increase in shoppers visiting markets, which significantly raises traffic pressure across Rawalpindi’s busiest areas.

He explained that deploying office staff alongside field officers would help maintain traffic flow and provide convenience to citizens, particularly families heading to markets for Eid shopping.

Officials confirmed that more than 800 traffic officers and personnel are performing round-the-clock duties across Rawalpindi. Traffic wardens are actively regulating movement on major roads with public cooperation, while special squads are working to prevent accidents, one-wheeling incidents, and illegal parking.

The CTO urged residents to follow traffic rules, cooperate with traffic police, and avoid parking in restricted areas to help ensure smooth movement and safer roads during the festive shopping period.
