Project Goals
The primary goals of these infrastructure projects are to:
- Create signal-free corridors, easing the growing traffic congestion at key intersections.
- Reduce travel time and improve safety for commuters.
- Provide alternative routes to alleviate pressure on existing roads.
“These improvements are designed to streamline traffic flow and contribute to environmental betterment and local economic stimulation,” said a senior official from the Housing and Urban Development Department.
Future Considerations
In addition to these projects, the government is also considering a flyover or underpass at Kutcheri Chowk, with groundwork and feasibility studies already underway.
Construction Timeline
Construction work on these new projects will begin once the ongoing works on The Mall and Adiala Road are completed, ensuring minimal disruption during the execution phase.
These upgrades are part of a broader effort to modernize Rawalpindi’s infrastructure, providing long-term benefits for the city’s residents and visitors alike.
