[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has called an emergency meeting of all PSL franchise owners for Friday at 3 p.m. to decide the fate of PSL matches scheduled for Lahore and Rawalpindi.
The PSL 8 matches, which are slated to be played in Rawalpindi and Lahore, will be discussed during the meeting via video conference call. The development has been confirmed by a PCB spokesperson.
The PCB has reportedly been asked for PKR 500 million by the interim Punjab government in order to hold the matches in Lahore and Rawalpindi. The board has already given the Punjab government PKR 50 million for food expenses.
The remaining PKR 450 million are currently being sought by the provincial government for illumination and security objectives.
If the matches are moved to Karachi, PCB won’t be responsible for the aforementioned costs.
The board is currently considering moving the Punjab leg of PSL 8 to Karachi Pakistan order to save these costs.
If the PCB agrees to proceed with the matches in Punjab, sources further stated that the emergency meeting will decide who will be responsible for paying these costs.
The PSL 8 action is expected to move from Multan and Karachi to the Gaddafi Stadium and Pindi Cricket Stadium, where the games will be contested from February 26 to March 19. The Qualification, two Eliminators, and the Final will all take place from March 15–19 at the cricket stadium in Pakistan.
This season, Rawalpindi will play host to 11 games, while Lahore will host nine.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
