Rawalpindi Issued Record Driving Licenses During 2025

The Rawalpindi City Traffic Police provided driving license services to a record 1,386,887 residents in 2025, marking a major achievement in the department’s annual performance, according to its latest report. The figures highlight a significant expansion in licensing operations across the Rawalpindi district and reflect increased public access to traffic-related services.

The annual report revealed that the department processed an exceptionally high number of applications throughout the year, supported by improvements in service delivery and administrative efficiency. Officials attributed this progress to citizen-focused initiatives introduced under the leadership of Farhan Aslam, who heads the Rawalpindi City Traffic Police. These measures were aimed at streamlining procedures and reducing delays in obtaining a driving license.

During 2025, more than 434,000 learner permits were issued, indicating strong interest from first-time drivers seeking to enter the licensing system. This surge demonstrates growing awareness about legal driving requirements and compliance with traffic laws. Alongside learner permits, the department issued 244,825 new driving licenses, the highest number ever recorded in a single year for the district.

The report also noted that 3,932 international driving licenses were issued during the year, allowing residents to legally drive in foreign countries. This service catered to individuals traveling or working abroad and reflected increased demand for internationally recognized documentation.

Officials stated that the expansion of licensing facilities across multiple locations in Rawalpindi played a key role in achieving these results. By improving accessibility and adopting service-oriented practices, the traffic police were able to accommodate a growing number of applicants efficiently.
