Rawalpindi Introduces New Traffic Response Unit Covering 12 Major Roads

The City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has launched a new Traffic Response Unit aimed at improving urban mobility and quickly addressing traffic disruptions across the city. The initiative was established under the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and implemented under the leadership of Chief Traffic Officer Beenish Fatima, according to a CTP spokesperson.

The Traffic Response Unit consists of two operational teams, each equipped with 10 motorcycles and staffed by 10 traffic wardens. These teams have been strategically deployed in high-traffic areas to ensure rapid intervention.

The first unit will cover Misrial Road, Girja Road, Tench Bhatta, Adiala Road, and Chakri Road. The second unit will manage congestion in Civil Lines, Murree Road, Saddar, Raja Bazaar, Ganj Mandi, Faizabad, and Sadiqabad.

Each motorcycle is equipped with sirens and public address systems, allowing wardens to quickly reach congested areas and issue real-time traffic instructions. The personnel will maintain constant communication with traffic headquarters to ensure coordinated responses and timely updates.
