Rawalpindi Excise Office Sealed Due to Dengue Mosquito Breeding Concerns

The Rawalpindi district administration has intensified its crackdown on dengue SOP violations, sealing the Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control (ET&NC) office on Saturday after discovering dengue larvae in samples collected from the building.

Focal Person on Dengue Tahira Aurangzeb, Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Culture Shazia Rizwan, and Deputy Commissioner Hassan Waqar Cheema led a team from the health authority on inspections across various areas. During their visit, they found dengue larvae in four water points within the Excise and Taxation Office, leading to its immediate closure.

The Social Welfare Office also reported larvae and has been sealed as well. Following these findings, the Deputy Commissioner ordered legal action against officers who failed to adhere to government-issued dengue prevention guidelines.

DC Cheema emphasized that unannounced inspections are being conducted in government offices to combat the dengue outbreak. He reiterated that cases will be filed against officers found negligent in implementing dengue precautions.
