Rawalpindi Board Orders Strict Monitoring During Matric Exams

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Rawalpindi (BISE Rawalpindi) has introduced strict monitoring measures to ensure transparency during the matriculation first annual examinations 2026, which are scheduled to begin on March 27.

According to officials, the board has decided to install CCTV cameras at all examination centres to closely monitor the exam process and discourage any form of cheating or misconduct. In addition to surveillance, the board will also implement biometric verification for candidates. This step aims to prevent impersonation and ensure that only the registered students appear in the examinations.

Under the new system, every candidate will have to complete biometric attendance verification before entering the examination hall. This method will make it nearly impossible for someone else to take the exam on behalf of the actual student, a practice that authorities have been trying to eliminate for years. Officials believe the move will significantly improve transparency and credibility in the examination system.

Amir Khattak, who serves as the Commissioner of Rawalpindi and Chairman of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Rawalpindi, has instructed relevant authorities to strictly enforce biometric attendance, particularly at centres classified as “hard category” across the Rawalpindi Division. These centres are usually considered more vulnerable to examination irregularities.

He also directed officials to ensure that the online CCTV monitoring system remains fully operational throughout the examination period. Through this system, authorities will be able to continuously observe activities at examination centres and quickly respond to any suspicious behaviour.

Khattak stressed that maintaining discipline, transparency, and merit during the exams is essential. He emphasized that the administration will take all necessary steps to ensure that the examination process remains fair, transparent, and free from malpractice.
