Police in Rawalpindi have filed a complaint against a private academy’s principal for allegedly forcing a matriculating student to have an abortion after sexually abusing her under false pretences of marriage.
According to reports, the incident happened within Pirwadhai Police Station’s jurisdiction. The accused, Zia ur Rehman, allegedly used his position as principal of Asad Academy in Khayaban-e-Sir Syed to pressure the girl, who had entered in 2023, to study for her matriculation examinations, according to the First Information Report (FIR).
The victim claims that she was summoned to the institution in May 2025 under false pretences of preparing for an exam. The accused was alone herself when she got there, and other students had already left. She alleges that the principal threatened to discipline her if she spoke out, shut the doors, and sexually assaulted her.
The lawsuit claims that the accused made a marriage vow, stating that he wished to wed her and had no children. He allegedly started emotionally manipulating her by promising her better grades and academic support in exchange for obedience when she refused and recommended he talk to her parents.
Despite repeated promises of marriage, the exploitation allegedly continued. In July, the student claims she was assaulted again at the academy office, leading to another pregnancy and a second miscarriage caused by mental and physical trauma.
In her FIR, she stated, “Zia ur Rehman misused the noble profession of teaching, deceived me with false promises of marriage, and ruined my future.”
