Rape reported at Benazir Bhutto Hospital raises safety concerns

A mother of two has reportedly been raped within the government-run Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) in Rawalpindi. According to authorities, the event occurred in the x-ray area, raising concerns about patient and staff safety.

Authorities said on Tuesday that a case had been filed in connection with the event. Following a medical check that confirmed the assault, the decision was made to pursue the matter.

Inspector Javaid Iqbal, the Station House Officer (SHO) at Waris Khan, revealed that a hospital employee is being held as a potential suspect while an inquiry is underway.

The First Information Report (FIR) describes the ordeal in graphic detail. According to the complainant, the suspect summoned her to the hospital on Saturday. She claims that once inside the x-ray room, the suspect enticed her with compromising videos and then raped her, all while a hospital staff, thought to be an accomplice, was present.

The complainant, who claimed she is divorced and has given her two children to their father’s care, stated that she had been in a relationship with the suspect for three years. He was said to have pledged to marry her.
