Adviser to the Prime Minister, Rana Sanaullah, has stated that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will face political fallout following the recent conflict between India and Pakistan. Sanaullah attributed Pakistan’s success to divine support and unity among the nation, government, and military. He particularly praised Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, calling him instrumental in safeguarding the country’s dignity and defense alongside the prime minister and president.
He warned political opponents, especially Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), against criticizing military leadership, saying that PTI has already suffered “irreparable losses” and that continued attacks on the army would further damage their political standing.
On the recent protests in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sanaullah described them as mostly peaceful and led by PPP workers and locals, criticizing the authorities’ harsh response and emphasizing that all political groups should be allowed the right to protest.
He also reiterated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s open offer for dialogue with PTI, available at the National Assembly or the speaker’s chamber, which remains unwithdrawn.
Finally, Sanaullah called for immediate local government elections in Punjab, saying the party leadership and Maryam Nawaz would soon decide on the timing.
