The moon of the blessed Islamic month of Rajab has been officially sighted in Pakistan. Following the central session of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, the Ministry of Religious Affairs issued a notification confirming that the 1st of Rajab will begin on Monday, December 22. This marks the start of the sacred month, which holds spiritual significance for Muslims worldwide.
During Rajab, several important Islamic events are observed. The ministry has also announced that the birth anniversary of Ameer-ul-Momineen, Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Talib (RA), will be commemorated on January 3. This occasion celebrates the life and teachings of the fourth caliph of Islam, whose contributions to Islamic thought and governance are widely revered.
Furthermore, the observance of Shab-e-Meraj has been scheduled for January 16. This event is celebrated with prayers, reflection, and acts of devotion, highlighting its significance in strengthening faith and spiritual awareness among Muslims.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs urged citizens to follow the official calendar for religious observances and participate in worship and community activities during this sacred period. Rajab, being one of the four sacred months in Islam, encourages reflection, self-purification, and preparation for the months leading up to Ramadan. Observing these milestones helps reinforce the spiritual values of the faith and deepens the connection of Muslims to their religious heritage.
Overall, the announcement provides clarity on key dates, ensuring that the nation observes these religious events with unity and devotion
