Two main suspects accused of killing two brothers over a Rs30 dispute were shot dead during a police raid in Raiwind.
According to a Lahore Police spokesperson, the suspects, Owais and Shehzad, were in custody and taken to the crime scene for identification when their accomplices ambushed the police team.
During the crossfire, both suspects were killed instantly, while the attackers, including a man named Tauqeer, managed to flee after opening heavy fire to free them.
Chuhang police have since launched a search operation in the area to track down the escapees.
The slain suspects had earlier tortured and murdered two real brothers over a minor financial quarrel. Authorities have vowed to arrest all those involved and ensure justice is served.
