Rain has delayed the start of the Group A match between Pakistan and Bangladesh at Rawalpindi Stadium on Thursday, as dark clouds hover over the venue. The game, which holds little significance as both teams are already eliminated from the Champions Trophy, has been impacted by intermittent showers overnight.
The toss, originally scheduled for noon, was postponed as the umpires await improved conditions. Adrian Holdstock from South Africa and England’s Michael Gough are set to assess the pitch once the rain subsides, but with a wet outfield and continued rainfall, there are concerns that the match may not proceed.

Both Pakistan and Bangladesh are winless in the tournament, losing to India and New Zealand in earlier matches. Should the rain persist and the match be abandoned, both teams will leave the competition without a victory, while India and New Zealand have already advanced to the semi-finals from Group A.
In Group B, South Africa, Australia, and Afghanistan are vying for the two remaining semi-final spots, with England already out of contention after a disappointing campaign.
