Rain Expected Across Punjab as Weather System Arrives in Pakistan

A rain-bearing weather system is set to sweep across Pakistan tonight, bringing much-needed showers to various parts of Punjab from March 14 to 16, according to the Meteorological Department. While most districts currently experience dry conditions with increasing temperatures, this system could bring some relief to the region.

In Lahore, temperatures are expected to range from a minimum of 17°C to a maximum of 29°C. Despite earlier predictions by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) for rain between March 9 and 16, significant rainfall has yet to materialize. The weather remains mostly dry today, though scattered cloud cover may provide temporary respite from the heat.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) is also forecast to experience overcast skies, with chances of rain, thunderstorms, and even snowfall in mountainous areas. Districts like Chitral, Swat, and Dera are likely to see thunderstorms with rain, while higher altitudes such as Kalam and Malam Jabba may receive snowfall.

Meanwhile, Karachi continues to face a hot spell, with clear skies and warm winds predicted for the next 24 hours. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) expects this dry and hot weather to persist briefly.
