In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Dir, Swat, Shangla, and Mohmand are likely to experience rain and snowfall from January 1 to 5, with Nowshera, Swabi, Karak, Bannu, and Kohat seeing rain and light snowfall during the same period. In Murree and Galiyat, intermittent snowfall is expected. Central Punjab, including Islamabad and Sargodha, will see rainfall from January 2 to 6, while parts of southern Punjab will experience intermittent rain from January 2 to 5. Balochistan’s Chaman, Pishin, and several other areas will also see rain and snowfall from January 1 to 4. Upper Sindh is expected to receive rain between January 3 and 4.
The Met Department has warned that heavy snowfall may lead to road closures in the affected areas, and increased fog following the rains could disrupt visibility. A severe cold wave is anticipated to grip the country once the weather conditions subside. Residents are urged to take necessary precautions to stay warm and avoid unnecessary travel in the affected regions.
