Railways Launches New Train Service Connecting Two Major Cities

Railways has decided to launch a new train service connecting Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The service is designed to help daily passengers travel with ease.

The decision was made during a meeting held at the Railways Headquarters in Lahore. Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi chaired the session. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also attended the meeting, along with senior officials.

Railways officials shared updates on current operations and challenges. One of the key topics discussed was the need to improve short-distance travel. The new train service is expected to provide relief for regular commuters between the two major cities.

During the meeting, the overall security of Railways operations was reviewed. Special attention was given to safety in Balochistan. Officials briefed the ministers on efforts to protect railway tracks and ensure secure train operations.

Another important point was the issue of land encroachment. Railways and the Interior Ministry agreed to launch a joint operation to remove illegal occupations from railway land. The National Constabulary and Railways Police will work together. The Frontier Constabulary will also provide support.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stressed the importance of security. He said that passenger safety and railway line protection are top government priorities. He also appreciated the steps taken by Railways to improve service quality.

Minister Hanif Abbasi thanked the Interior Minister for his support, especially in the anti-encroachment drive. He said Railways is committed to making travel safer and more efficient for the public.

The upcoming Islamabad–Rawalpindi train service reflects Railways’ efforts to modernize the transport system. More details, including the schedule and fare, will be announced soon.

Railways officials say this is just one of many initiatives planned to boost the country’s transport network.
