Rahim Yar Khan Bus-Truck Collision Leaves Four Dead and 26 Injured

At Least Four Dead, 26 Injured in Bus-Truck Collision on M5 Motorway Near Rahim Yar Khan

At least four people lost their lives and 26 others were injured early Wednesday when a passenger bus collided with a mango-loaded truck on the M5 Motorway near Iqbalabad, Rahim Yar Khan.

According to Rescue 1122 officials, the bus, traveling from Karachi to Pakpattan, veered into the truck’s path after the driver allegedly fell asleep at the wheel. The crash caused extensive damage to both vehicles.

Rescue teams and motorway police responded quickly. Ten passengers with minor injuries received first aid at the scene, while 16 were taken to nearby hospitals for further treatment. All casualties were bus passengers.

Authorities are identifying the deceased and notifying their families. Police sealed off the accident site, collected evidence, and diverted traffic to maintain motorway flow.

Preliminary findings indicate driver fatigue and negligence as the primary cause. A formal investigation has been launched.
