Qatar Airways has significantly sped up the installation of Starlink wifi internet services on its Boeing 777 fleet. The Doha-based carrier began introducing Starlink—developed by SpaceX—in October 2024 and has now equipped 30 of its Boeing 777s with the high-speed system, covering over 50% of its entire fleet.
This rapid progress is about 70% ahead of the airline’s initial schedule, as the installation time per aircraft has been slashed from 2-3 days to under 10 hours. Consequently, Qatar Airways expects that all 57 of its Boeing 777s will have Starlink installed by the end of the second quarter of this year.

Qatar Airways Group CEO Mohammed Al-Meer stated, “We are delivering on our commitment to provide our passengers the best in-flight connectivity at an unprecedented pace. In just four months since launching the world’s first Boeing 777 Starlink-equipped flight, we have already installed this ground-breaking service on 30 aircraft – far exceeding our initial targets.” He added that Starlink wifi is a game-changer for passengers, who will soon benefit from uninterrupted connectivity on even more routes.
Other airlines, including AirBaltic, SAS, United Airlines, and Air France, are also expected to roll out Starlink services on their fleets in the coming year.
