For 2024, Qatar Airways has been named Airline of the Year, securing the top spot due to its exceptional service and innovation. This achievement places Qatar Airways ahead of previous winners like Air New Zealand, which held the top spot in 2023.

Geoffrey Thomas, editor-in-chief at AirlineRatings.com, explained in an interview, “In our objective analysis, Qatar Airways excelled in many key areas, although the scoring was very close for the top five. Qatar Airways won due to very positive passenger reviews across its business class and economy cabins.”
This year, Korean Air secured second place, followed by Cathay Pacific Airways in third, Air New Zealand in fourth, and Emirates in fifth.
Besides the overall rankings, AirlineRatings.com also recognized airlines in various specific categories. Qatar Airways was named the best business class for the fifth consecutive year and also received the award for best catering.
