Punjab Government Introduces Innovative Matriculation Subjects for Students

In a major reform to the education system, the Punjab government has introduced new subjects for matriculation, giving students the opportunity to explore fields beyond the traditional science and arts streams.

New Streams Offered in Matriculation

Starting this academic year, students can now opt for matriculation in career-oriented fields such as:

  • Information Technology (IT)
  • Technology Entrepreneurship
  • Health Sciences
  • Agriculture Science
  • Fashion Designing

  • Students can select from IT, health sciences, agriculture science, entrepreneurship, and fashion designing from Class IX.

  • Students will choose their matriculation subjects at the beginning of Class IX.
  • Major courses will be prominently listed on students’ result cards.
