During her visit to Japan, Maryam Nawaz toured the prestigious National Center for Global Health, a world-leading hospital known for its expertise in treating infectious diseases. She closely reviewed its facilities, state-of-the-art equipment, and advanced treatment procedures. The Chief Minister also held discussions with Japanese medical specialists, gaining insight into innovative healthcare models and patient care approaches.
Integration of Technology and Medical Devices
As part of the initiative, Punjab’s public healthcare system will integrate high-tech Japanese medical equipment, modern treatment devices, and management methods. A key decision was made to develop the Nawaz Sharif Medical District based on Japan’s healthcare model, ensuring that world-class facilities are accessible to patients within the province.
Health Insurance and Research Collaboration
Maryam Nawaz further announced plans to introduce a health insurance scheme for Punjab, modeled after Japan’s successful system. The scheme aims to make healthcare affordable and widely accessible for citizens.
