The Punjab Works and Communications Department has announced plans to digitize 38 toll plazas across 34 districts, aiming to modernize toll collection and improve transparency. The decision was made in a meeting chaired by Provincial Minister Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharath, where officials briefed on the project’s details.
Under the new system, electronic toll collection will replace manual methods, enabling automatic vehicle verification and transparent revenue tracking while minimizing errors and corruption risks.
Minister Bharath confirmed that toll plazas in districts including Attock, Bahawalpur, Gujrat, Chakwal, Sargodha, Murree, Okara, Multan, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala will be upgraded in phases to ensure efficient implementation.
