Punjab Government Suspends All Leaves Amid Escalating Indo-Pak Tensions

In response to the rapidly evolving security situation, the Punjab government has suspended all forms of leave for employees across government departments with immediate effect.

The Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) issued an official notification on Tuesday, stating that no government officer or employee will be allowed to proceed on leave until further orders. The decision, the notification said, was taken “in view of the emergent situation.”

Emergency Measures Amid Heightened Regional Conflict

Though the notification did not elaborate on the nature of the emergency, the suspension of leave comes in the wake of reported Indian airstrikes on Pakistani territory late Monday night. According to military sources, the Indian Air Force launched an aerial assault under the cover of darkness, allegedly targeting both civilian and strategic locations inside Pakistan.

In swift retaliation, Pakistan’s armed forces claimed to have downed five Indian aircraft, including three Rafale jets, and destroyed several Indian military installations, notably a brigade headquarters.

Signs of Indian Retreat Along LoC

Unofficial reports also suggest that the Indian military raised a white flag at the Chura Complex near the Line of Control (LoC), signaling a potential surrender in that combat zone. However, no official confirmation has been issued by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) at the time of publication.

Security Tightened Across Punjab

In light of the situation, emergency protocols have been activated across Punjab, with hospitals placed on high alert and emergency services instructed to operate round the clock. Provincial authorities are closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with military and intelligence agencies to ensure public safety.

While no civilian fatalities have been reported so far, rescue operations are ongoing in urban areas affected by the strikes.
