The Punjab Safe Cities Authority has implemented comprehensive security measures across the province to ensure public safety during Ramadan.
Officials stated that dedicated virtual patrolling teams have been deployed at Punjab’s Smart Safe City centers, monitoring activities around the clock.
As part of the initiative, over 21 Ramadan and facilitation bazaars are now connected to the central network through 66 surveillance cameras, ensuring the safety of both shoppers and vendors. Additionally, 112 cameras across more than 32 public parks have been integrated into the Safe City system.
Authorities also confirmed that 143 cameras at over 163 mosques and imambargahs are now linked to the network, allowing continuous monitoring during Taraweeh prayers and other religious gatherings. Key public spaces are under constant surveillance to prevent any untoward incidents.
The authority has also deployed an AI-based monitoring system to track beggars and suspicious activity at traffic signals. The system generates instant alerts, enabling rapid response by the relevant teams.
Citizens have been encouraged to report any suspicious activity via the designated helpline, supporting the Safe Cities Authority in maintaining a secure and peaceful environment throughout the holy month.
