According to official data, the number of police officers killed in encounters dropped by 110%, while criminals killed in these operations increased by 110% compared to last year.
Encounters in 2025
So far in 2025, Punjab has recorded 2,564 encounters. During these operations:
- 1,270 criminals were killed
- 16 criminals were injured
- 1,551 criminals were arrested
- 19 police personnel were martyred
- 165 police officers were injured

In 2024, there were 1,186 encounters across the province:
- 544 criminals were killed
- 781 criminals were injured
- 853 criminals were arrested
- 42 police personnel were martyred
- 170 police officers were injured

Over the past three years, the Punjab Police recorded 4,593 encounters. In total:
- 2,280 criminals killed
- 2,957 criminals injured
- 3,194 criminals arrested
- 78 police personnel martyred
- 485 police officers injured

Authorities say the statistics reflect improved operational effectiveness. Fewer police officers are dying while actions against criminals have intensified.
