Breaking News- Govt Takes Major Action against TLP

The Punjab cabinet has approved a ban on Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) following violent protests staged by the group over the Gaza conflict.

Provincial Information Minister Azma Bokhari announced the decision during a press conference in Lahore, condemning the group’s destructive actions during its demonstrations. She noted that Pakistan’s global efforts for a Gaza ceasefire had already been acknowledged, yet TLP resorted to violence even after a peace deal had been reached.

Bokhari criticized the group for damaging property and torching police vehicles, questioning, “Did burning police cars solve the Gaza issue?” She stressed that such violence would no longer be tolerated, confirming that the Punjab government has forwarded a summary to the federal authorities recommending a nationwide ban on TLP.

The move follows earlier reports suggesting that the provincial administration was preparing to outlaw the organization and confiscate its assets after repeated incidents of unrest and public disorder.
