The Punjab government has officially launched Phase 2 of the Chief Minister’s Laptop Scheme across Lahore and other districts. This phase will benefit 60,000 students, who will receive laptops according to a pre-announced schedule.
The announcement comes as Phase 1 of the Laptop Scheme continues. The first phase targeted 100,000 students, and distributions are ongoing to ensure maximum participation. Authorities are running both phases simultaneously to reach as many eligible students as possible.
In total, the program aims to provide 160,000 laptops under the scheme. Students can still submit applications through the Higher Education Department (HED) portal, which remains open for registrations. Officials have confirmed that all distributions will follow the announced schedule for transparency and fairness.
The government emphasized that the Laptop Scheme aims to provide students with modern technology for academic and research purposes. By equipping students with laptops, the program seeks to improve learning outcomes and promote digital literacy across the province.
Officials noted that the initiative will help bridge the digital divide in Punjab. Students from urban and rural areas alike will benefit from equal access to technology, enabling them to participate more effectively in modern education and research activities.
Parents and students have welcomed the program, stating that access to laptops will enhance academic performance and prepare students for higher education and professional opportunities. The Laptop Scheme has also been praised for supporting educational reforms and encouraging innovation among young learners.
