Authorities have initiated a crackdown on individuals showcasing firearms on social media, with the Crime Control Department (CCD) arresting six suspects during targeted raids in Narowal and Nankana Sahib.
The operation followed intelligence gathered through online monitoring, where several individuals were seen brandishing weapons in photos and videos. Four arrests were made in Narowal, while two suspects were detained in Nankana Sahib.

During the raids, police recovered modern rifles, pistols, and ammunition, raising concerns about illegal arms possession and the promotion of violence.
“The public display of weapons encourages violence and threatens public safety,” a CCD spokesperson said. “Strict action will be taken against those involved.”
All suspects have been formally charged, and investigations are ongoing to trace the origin of the weapons and possible links to criminal activities.
Authorities also urged citizens to report similar online content, warning that stern legal action awaits anyone using social media to glorify firearms.
