Punjab has taken a major step to modernize education by introducing Artificial Intelligence (AI) education in all its public schools. The initiative aims to prepare students for the demands of the digital era and future careers.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced on her official X account that AI education will be rolled out across the province starting today. She emphasized that every student, regardless of background, will have access to digital and analytical tools needed to compete globally.
The program will include an AI teacher in every public school. In addition, 1,000 teachers have been trained as AI Master Trainers to ensure effective implementation. Officials said the curriculum will be fully integrated within 60 days, allowing students to learn both theoretical and practical AI concepts.
The Chief Minister described the initiative as a “historic digital leap” for Punjab, highlighting the province’s leadership in preparing students for technological challenges. She added that the program will equip students with essential skills for modern industries and the global workforce.
Officials explained that the AI curriculum will cover fundamentals such as problem-solving, data analysis, and digital literacy. Students will also gain hands-on experience with AI tools and software, fostering innovation and creativity in classrooms.
This initiative is part of broader efforts by Punjab to digitize education and improve learning outcomes in government schools. Authorities believe that integrating AI into the curriculum will enhance students’ employability and readiness for emerging careers in science, technology, and business.
