The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued a province-wide alert over the rising threat of dengue fever, urging citizens to take preventive measures against the mosquito-borne disease.
Following instructions from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, DG PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia directed all relevant departments to implement emergency dengue control protocols, with a focus on sanitation in flood-affected areas to maintain mosquito-free environments.
Local authorities have been tasked with eliminating mosquito breeding sites and ensuring hospitals and clinics are prepared with timely diagnostic and medical facilities for dengue patients.
Residents are advised to keep surroundings clean, prevent water accumulation, and use mosquito repellents and nets. In case of symptoms or emergencies, the PDMA helpline at 1129 is available.
The PDMA also called on the public to remain vigilant, report potential breeding grounds, and follow official health guidelines to help control the spread of dengue.
For check-up and other medical facilities, Islamabad Healthcare Authority fixes charging amount for dengue test.
