Punjab introduces revolutionary law for motorcyclists

Other regions of Pakistan have more relaxed motorcycle helmet laws in comparison to Islamabad. As a result, the likelihood of catastrophic injury or death for motorcyclists increases.

Recognising the danger, the Punjab government has finally issued a notification mandating the use of helmets throughout the province. The authorities have threatened cyclists who do not comply with harsh penalties.

According to the notice, all city traffic police (CTP) departments in Punjab will henceforth keep a log book that will detail the bikers who have been subjected to legal action on a daily basis.

CTP demands the submission of the record book every day at 9:00 a.m. to guarantee efficient enforcement. This rule establishes a precise deadline for record-keeping, allowing for effective monitoring.

With field officers obliged by this obligation, authorities are expected to take an extra-aggressive approach to enforcing the regulation. Given the increasing emphasis on helmet enforcement, it is critical for riders to be attentive in the coming days.
