Punjab Health Department Imposes Stricter Rules on Foreign Leave

The Specialized Healthcare Department has announced stricter regulations for medical professionals seeking to travel abroad on leave. According to the newly issued notification, healthcare employees will now be required to submit their leave applications at least one month in advance to be considered for approval.

The department has circulated a formal directive to all Vice Chancellors, Principals, and Medical Superintendents across Punjab, instructing them to strictly enforce the new rules. The circular emphasizes that timely submission of applications is mandatory and that requests filed less than one month prior to the intended leave dates will not be entertained.

Officials highlighted that the move is aimed at ensuring smooth operations within hospitals and healthcare institutions by preventing sudden staff shortages caused by last-minute leave applications. By introducing this requirement, the department seeks to streamline the approval process and maintain uninterrupted healthcare services for patients across the province.

The notification leaves no room for exceptions, making it clear that compliance with the one-month advance rule is compulsory for all medical professionals.
