The Punjab Govt has approved several initiatives to support skilled youth and boost employment opportunities across the province. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz chaired a high-level meeting to review the performance of the Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department.
Officials reported that over 180,000 young individuals have completed training under the Hunarmand Program in recent months. Among them, more than 75,000 skilled graduates have secured employment locally, while around 15,000 individuals have found jobs in international markets.
The Punjab Govt highlighted the contribution of vocational and technical training institutes. Over 27,500 trainees from TEVTA and 45,000 PVTC graduates have successfully obtained employment after completing technical courses. Officials also noted that technical training enrollment has increased by 21% compared to the previous five years.
To further strengthen the province’s industrial sector, the Punjab Govt has approved a new industrial survey. The survey aims to identify skill gaps and emerging economic opportunities to enhance regional employment.
As part of youth empowerment, the government launched the Maryam Nawaz Free Parwaz Card initiative. The program is designed to facilitate skilled youth seeking overseas employment and career advancement opportunities. The card will cover training costs and help youth access international job markets.
Additionally, the Punjab government allocated Rs. 1 billion for the “Main Digital” initiative, targeting 3,000 rural women for IT training. The first phase of this program will start in Bahawalpur, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Lodhran, and Faisalabad, with a goal of training over 2,100 women by April 2026.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized that these initiatives aim to reduce unemployment, create sustainable livelihoods, and prepare Punjab’s workforce to compete globally.
