The Punjab Government has announced a major initiative to provide laptops and bicycles to over 100,000 students across the province. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz made the announcement while addressing participants of the National Workshop from Balochistan, welcoming students from the province as guests.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the doors of Punjab are always open to students and citizens from other provinces. She highlighted that children from all over Pakistan are receiving quality education in Punjab’s institutions. Maryam Nawaz said that youth are the future of the country and that politics should focus on serving the people.
She also reaffirmed the Punjab Government’s commitment to fair governance. The Chief Minister stated that favoritism has been eliminated in the province, public funds are being spent transparently, and appointments are now strictly merit-based.
Addressing financial and security matters, Maryam Nawaz noted that Punjab does not receive excessive federal funds. She highlighted initiatives to reduce crime and stressed the importance of providing a safe environment for women. The Safe City program has been expanded to cover more areas of the province.
The Chief Minister outlined several development projects led by the Punjab Government. These include housing programs for the underprivileged, with 125,000 homes currently under construction and a target of 500,000 within five years. Free medicines are being delivered to citizens’ doorsteps. Healthcare achievements include the construction of a state-of-the-art hospital in Sargodha, and plans for a cardiac hospital in every district before the end of her term.
Infrastructure projects also include the construction of 20,000 kilometers of roads, drainage improvements within a year, citywide free Wi-Fi in Lahore, bus stations, and electric buses operating at Rs20 fares. Special programs for children with special needs include 30,000 surgeries and centers of excellence in each city.

Finally, the Punjab Government has launched the Honhar Scholarship Program for gifted students. The Chief Minister confirmed that an additional 100,000 students will receive laptops and bicycles, reinforcing the government’s commitment to education, healthcare, and public welfare.
