Punjab Government Announces Summer Vacation From May 28 Amid Heatwave Concerns
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz-led Punjab government on Tuesday declared that all public and private schools across Punjab will begin summer vacations from May 28.
The decision, approved after consultations with the provincial education department and relevant authorities, aims to protect students and staff from the ongoing severe heat conditions.

Schools will operate from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM to reduce exposure to extreme heat. This revised schedule is effective immediately throughout Punjab. - Reason for Early Closure:
According to a senior official from the Punjab School Education Department, the move responds to health advisories and meteorological warnings forecasting extreme temperatures in the coming days.
“The safety of children is our top priority. This early closure is a preventive step to protect students from heatstroke and related health risks,” the official emphasized. - Heatwave Warnings:
The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has also issued alerts warning of an intense heatwave expected across southern and central Punjab. The PDMA urges the public to limit outdoor activities during peak heat hours.
Parents and guardians are advised to take necessary precautions and ensure the well-being of children during this period of extreme weather.
