Punjab Government Launches Free Solar Panel Scheme for Low-Energy Consumers
In a major move towards energy sustainability and economic relief, the Punjab government introduced a free solar panel scheme on Sunday, aimed at providing solar systems to households consuming up to 200 electricity units per month.
Eligibility and Benefits
Under the scheme, households using 100 units per month will receive a 550-watt solar system. This initiative is designed to help reduce the financial burden of electricity bills while promoting cleaner, renewable energy sources.

How to Apply
To apply, citizens will need to submit their electricity bill reference number through a dedicated online portal. Renters will also need to provide a no-objection certificate (NOC) from their property owners, as the solar panels will be registered in the property owner’s name.
