Punjab Government Extends Ban on Meetings in Adiala Jail

The Punjab government has extended the ban on meeting prisoners in Adiala Jail for an additional two days due to heightened security concerns. This ban, which initially included all prisoners—including political figures—was supposed to end on October 18 but has now been prolonged. However, the restriction will not apply to meetings requested on special grounds.

In this context, a five-member delegation from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is set to meet the party’s founding chairman, Imran Khan, inside Adiala Jail. This meeting has been authorized on a special request basis, with sources confirming that the Punjab government had approved it prior to the general ban’s extension.

The five PTI leaders permitted to meet Imran Khan include Barrister Gohar, Ali Zafar, Asad Qaiser, Salman Akram Raja, and Sahibzada Hamid Raza. The party is currently determining the time for this meeting, as per jail sources.
